Once you get in touch with us, our Body Corporate Manager will contact you to arrange a property inspection. During this process he will;
- Identify areas in need of repair.
- Examine the property for areas of high traffic and increased exposure.
- Given the above, discuss recommended exterior membrane systems appropriate for your property.
Following your property inspection, we will provide you an individualised quote. We endeavour to produce our quotes as quickly as possible and the process usually takes between two to three days. Your quote will include the following;
- Expected time frame for job completion.
- Scope of works including anticipated repairs.
- Products to be used (material sheets for relevant products are provided with the quote).
- Applicable warranty.
- All quotes are inclusive of the use of our specialised access equipment where needed.
Why don’t we provide quotes without property inspection?
We have a commitment to provide clients with a complete service, delivering a job that not only looks good, but will last as long as possible, reducing costs in the long term. In order to do this, it is important that the necessary repairs are performed, and an exterior membrane is used that is appropriate for the individual needs of the property.
Beware of quotes from painting service providers that are given without a property inspection.
These are unlikely to have considered the individual needs of your property and any repairs will not be accounted for. This leaves you at risk of unexpected costs, or completion of a paint job without necessary repairs, reducing the longevity of the job and compromising the integrity of the building structure.
We want you to get the most out of your new look and provide colour consultation to all our body corporate clients, free of charge. If you want to keep a similar colour scheme, but need to revitalise dulled paintwork, we use technology to colour match to your existing paintwork. Or, if you are after a whole new look, our colour consultants are up-to-date on local trends and can help you to choose a new palette that will flatter your property and suit your area.
We don’t paint over defects. Render damage can occur as a result of underlying structural issues and if not repaired can cause further damage with costly consequences. Before painting, our qualified concrete repairers work to fix damage such as;

Before coating, we ensure that the surface is free and clean of any dirt, mould or bacterial ingress. This is done using a chlorine-based wash applied either by hand or high pressure blasting, depending on the needs of the property, followed by a thorough rinse.
When it comes to coating, our process differs based on the chosen exterior membrane system. As an example, for a client who chooses our 10 year warranty system and Dulux AcraTex Elastomeric 201, a primer is first applied to the exterior followed by 2 full coats of the membrane. Whatever your chosen products, we include material data sheets with your quote. These include information such at drying times, VOC level, and film build.
Specialist Access Equipment
Repairs, surface preparation and coating are made easier with the use of our very own specialist access equipment. Many other painting companies hire external equipment at an additional cost, which they pass on to you. At Darryl Hathway Painting and Decorating, we have a range of specialist access equipment, including an all-terrain scissor lift and Zeus spider-boom, which we are happy to provide for our clients.
By using our own equipment, including trestles, scaffolding, scissor lift and spider boom. We are able to provide the vast majority of required access for our body corporate projects.
This is of particular value when it comes to painting three to four story structures. Here, the Zeus spider boom is able to provide quick and easy access at a height that would otherwise require considerable scaffolding. By saving our clients money otherwise spent on access equipment, we are able to deliver our superior first-class workmanship, products, and warranties at highly competitive rates.
We are committed to customer satisfaction and offer clients the opportunity to inspect our completed works and request further touch ups free of charge. Following completion of this process, all clients are given a sign-off sheet and encouraged to rate our services and provide feedback. Without fail, these are added to our website to be viewed publicly via our sign-off sheet heatmap.
